Looking for Web Design in Harrisburg?

Looking for Web Design in Harrisburg?

Now located in Midtown Harrisburg, I’m actively looking to work with local businesses in need of web design services.

I'm sure you've been doing your research of other web design agencies, and you're probably overwhelmed with the challenging task of choosing the right one. I'm sure you've found several great looking design firms, freelance designers, and a few national agencies all promising the best in web design and web development. Sadly, unless you've worked with other agencies and you know what to look for, it's hard to know if they can actually produce what you're looking for.

Optimizing your Squarespace URL Slugs

Optimizing your Squarespace URL Slugs

In this blog post, I go over how to optimize your Squarespace URL Slugs and how you can use them to your advantage when it comes to improving your SEO rankings.

The topic of Squarespace's URL Slugs and how to properly manage them is something that gets lost in the dark and is rarely talked about. Also, I'll be discussing 404 error pages and how to setup 301 redirects. Both subjects can play a key role when messing around with URL Slugs.

A look behind project storytelling

A look behind project storytelling

Back in February I released my personal video project (storytelling). In this blog post I’d like to share what it took to put something like this off.

This project didn't come together on its own. It took a great deal of consideration and collaboration to get things started. When I am passionate about something, I want to make sure I give it all I have. I poured my heart and soul into this project and I really enjoyed the process it took creating it.

It's official, I left my full-time job

It's official, I left my full-time job

For sometime now, I've been considering leaving my full-time job and venturing on my own. As of almost two weeks ago, this idea has become a reality.

February 25th was my final day at ePublishing. I spent the last 2 years with this company and in that time I have learned a lot about my field and myself. This new path that I am venturing along is both exciting and intimidating. Like so many other designers and developers, I have always dreamt of going on my own, but I never took that leap of faith until now.

Project storytelling is finally complete

Project storytelling is finally complete

For over a year I've been planning a personal video project (storytelling) about myself that would show my personality, goals, and passions within my career.

Well, I'm happy to say that this has finally become a reality and turned out better than I had ever expected. Cory Cross, Owner and Founder of Lotti Dotti, LLC was the man behind the camera who helped make this project possible.

Plans for 2016

Plans for 2016

2015 was a great year for me. I was able to work with some amazing people and learned a lot in my industry.

In this post, I would like to go over some of my future goals and personal projects that I'll be working on throughout the year. One of the upcoming features to my site really excites me to be able to help out the Squarespace community with my new section, the Code Shop (more details below).

Squarespace + Twitter Share Button (via text) Updated

Squarespace + Twitter Share Button (via text) Updated

I had a client of mine ask me to find a way to add their Twitter handle to the Twitter share text.

The Twitter button that Squarespace uses is very basic and does not include any special parameters. So I was able to find a work around but it's a bit of a hack until Squarespace releases better options for this feature. Basically, you will need to use some jQuery to inject a new Twitter button and suppress (hide) the old one with some CSS.

Customizing Squarespace: Where to start

Customizing Squarespace: Where to start

When creating a new Squarespace site, one of the first things that I do is create a very simple style guide.

In a nut shell, a style guide is a set of standards and guidelines for your brand. This could be anything from visual elements to content structure and can be a very powerful tool. Establishing a style guide can greatly improve your chances of a consistent design throughout your website.

A Day at Little Amps

A Day at Little Amps

Being that I work from home, I tend to spend a lot of my time at coffee shops these days.

Little Amps Coffee Roasters is located in downtown Harrisburg and I have to say it's one of the best places in the city to get some great coffee. Everyone who works there are passionate and take time to craft each and every cup or shot you order. As well as having quality coffee, it also has a clean, hipster vibe.

Dollar Shave Club Review

Dollar Shave Club Review

I've been a member of the Dollar Shave Club for about 6 months now and It's been worth every dollar.

Aside from the amazing price their products are actually great quality too. I find it almost hard to go through 4 blades in a month but luckily you can set it up to only send new blades every other month. If you were thinking of trying it out I suggest you do so. This also makes a great gift.

Moving Feet

Moving Feet

Today I'm putting myself on a path to better my health physically and mentally. It seems I've reached that part in my life where not caring what I eat has caught up with me.

I first saw a notice physically and mentally back in 2012 while I was living in the Wilkes-Barre area. During this time I was constantly frustrated from work and taking my stress home with me. On top of that I was eating like shit and wasn't active as much as I should have.
