At Squarespace HQ speaking with Tony, a Community Manager

These days, more and more of my client work has turned into Squarespace consulting vs Squarespace development. And funny enough, this is something that I really enjoy doing.

Basically, I’ve been doing this type of work since I started working exclusively with Squarespace back in 2016 as part of my client's off-loading process right before I launch their site. Making sure my clients know and understand how to use Squarespace efficiently is critical for their continued success in running their own businesses.

So, when I started getting requests for just one-on-one Squarespace training, it was an easy and familiar environment to walk into after years of doing this already.

Most common Squarespace hurdles

Squarespace is a very powerful DIY platform, but just like anything else, it can feel very overwhelming to use it for the first time. As a user, you’re hit with so many options, features, and choices that it's simply hard to know where to start and what to do next. You’re just bombarded with too much information all at once with no solid context. And sadly, most end up learning through trial & error.

Another common issue that a lot of Squarespace users run into is that they don’t understand what you can and can’t do natively within Squarespace. Basically, Squarespace is a proprietary platform and definitely has constraints you need to understand how to work with. Knowing the pros and cons and what you can and can't do is very important so you don't walk down a path of no return.

So, knowing how to leverage Squarespaces strengths is definitely critical if you want a kick-ass result. Obviously, knowing the ins and outs of this platform is what I specialize in, and enjoy.

Hiring a Squarespace consultant

Now, I’m well aware that labeling myself as a Squarespace expert comes with the stigma of having a large ego that some might not want to work with, but I’m just a person who enjoys working with Squarespace and someone who knows the ins and outs of this platform. Getting to work with clients who are excited to work with me has been an awesome experience, to say the least. And making sure my clients know that I’m only a call away to help answer their questions and to point them in the right direction is very important to them.

Working with me is usually a combination of change requests, one-on-one training, custom pre-recorded video tutorials, and consulting. Basically, I'm on call when you need my advice, design, or coding skills. If this is something you’re interested in or want to know more about, you can view my Squarespace Consulting page.

My interest in web development stemmed from my passion for gaming. Between developing websites and playing video games, I admittedly spend most of my time in front of a screen. Some of my passions are writing clean code, creating well-thought user experiences, and filling up a fresh cup of coffee.
